I was born into the wonderful world of dogs. My parents were breeders of Boxers and Bedlington terriers. They became dog show handlers, specializing in terriers, and later multiple group dog American Kennel Club (AKC) show judges. We had many terrier breeds but I was involved with horses and wanted a good dog for the trails. I got my first Australian Shepherd from my local farrier in Burbank in 1971. His name was Calico and he was the smartest most agile dog I ever owned. He even went to college with me at University of California, Davis. I soon had my parents judging Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) shows.
My first show Aussie came from Debra Roberts. I named her Misty. She was a beautiful blue merle out of Ro-bar’s Dancin and Shaken and Becky Deleon’s male-ASCA/AKC Windhills Shine on Macon. She was to be the foundation bitch for the Andover Aussies pedigree.
I compete in AKC and ASCA and try to breed healthy quality dogs that will excel in all venues: conformation, agility, obedience and herding. I am involved in many Australian Shepherd activities with my long time friends from California, Debbie Misner and Janet Davies and my new Arizona friends. I helped with the Meet The Breeds booth at the AKC Eukanuba Invitational for 3 years. I occasionally have puppies and you are welcome to contact me in Arizona. Please enjoy the site!
